Just bought the EU200i for $899.00 from Mayberry's, shipped to my doorstep within 48 hours of ordering. I was going to be traveling near to Mayberry's, and asked if it would be cheaper if I picked it up. Answer: No, it would be the same price, and I would have to pay the New Jersey sales tax. (no sales tax in Delaware... no brainer).

Depends on which one you want, just aquired a eu2000i companion $989.00 free shipping no tax $10.00 cheaper than mayberry's. I have 2 other Hondas a eu3000 & other eu2000, thinking of selling the eu2000 (less than 3 hours on it) but wont ship it pick up only Jax. FL.

We researched the cost through mail order, etc...the cheapest we could find was $879, no tax and no shipping...BUT you have to pay shipping insurance...so they get you one way or the other. We ended up buying one locally at the Honda motorcycle dealer which also carries the generators...a regular EU2000i was $850 and the Companion was $950. AND they prepped it, tested it under load and walked us through its care and feeding...and if ours is in the shop, they will give us a loaner. We also go a promotional for 12 months no interest... So check your local dealers, too...don't just assume you can do better through mail order. We like the customer service by buying locally, too.

Did the $850.00, $950.00 include tax ? Like the idea you will get loaner if yours in shop, but with a honda I expect that wouldn't happen.

I got my EU2000i from Alamia. No tax, shipping, hidden insurances costs, and about 20 dollars less than Mayberry's. At least they were cheaper 2 years ago.

Thinking about calling a dealer in California and find out if they will accept an IOU.

No, we had to pay tax on that, but between the lower cost locally and the required "shipping insurance" of the $879 mail order it was pretty much a wash...and we got face-to-face service, all prepped and ready to go.

The best price I found for Honda generators was on the Honda website. Yet you pick it up at a local dealer. I bought an EU3000i for approxiamately $1800 through the website.

Noticed your plant city FL., Im jacksonville, got my 3000 at local dealer here for $1649.04 out the door tax included. He has been approaching me that he can do even a little better and more so on a 2000 if interested in another one of those. I wanted another 2000 but wanted the companion and found them on internet $10.00 cheaper than mayberrys included shipping no tax. local dealer couldn't match price of the companion. Don't know where plant city FL. is but if your not far could be worth drive. Dealer is very close to where I live and he emails me occasionally hoping for more sales.

$899

I bought my EU2000i for $899 from my local Honda dealer. At the time, that was the best price I saw online as well. I see they have since come down a little bit. But, my local guy prepped it, etc. And, he is also an authorized service center. Had I ordered it online, i wouldn't get the service that I could by buying it locally.

That being said....I pour in the gas, pull the rope, and she purrs. No service required.

The EU2000i really is a nice little genny. I want to get a second one so I can run the a/c.....

cheers,

Lowest prices on Honda gensets (2000i series)

In my case talked with all of the Honda sellers referenced on this thread....
Thanks to all for those contacts! Mayberrys had the lowest prices for
both the 2000i and the 2000i companion as they offered the two units with
the parallel cable, the DC cable and a tune-up kit for the Companion as it does not have the DC outlet. Shipped to my doorstep for $1898. Spent some time with my local Honda dealer in the morning to muddle thru the different products... called the Airstream technical support folks and told them I had a Flying Cloud Bambi with the 13,500 btu A/C and they indicated that the 3000 series would work most of the time, but on a very hot day over 90 degrees, the 3000i stood a very good chance of stopping as it could not keep up with the demand. Recommended two 2000i units instead from either Honda or Yamaha. Called my local dealer with the pricing from Mayberrys and they called back to meet that pricing which made me happy as they are about 8 miles from my house if any warranty issues happen. That's my story and I should also add that there is a unit 3,500 watter from ETQ with inverter for much less money and I wondered if anyone had or knew about these generators.

I'm presently looking at the Honda 2000I and the Honda 2000I Companion. I intend to eventually buy both to hook them together and run the A/C unit. Does it matter which unit is purchased first. I may not purchase the 2nd unit for a year or so and want to buy the one that simplifies use as much as possible. The companion appears to be a bit more expensive. jc

I'm pretty sure that we'll need the eu3000i for our Sovereign (original Armstrong A/C). How quiet is it?
