78 Argosy 28 generator help??? please

so i recently got a 28ft 78 argosy 28, i'm new to the RV world(i know nothing), and i have a few question about the Onan generator onboard. first is how do i turn it on?? i found a start switch on the generator but i tried that and it does nothing. does the ambilical cord need to be pluged into the 220 outlet in the same compartment? 2nd is there a switch some where inside that needs to be turned on?? 3rd from what the previous owner told me it workd but could use a rebuild. so where do i get a rebuild kit or can a small engine shop do this? sorry for stupid questions i'm just trying to get it working before the 12th when i take it out for the first time.
