78 Argosy 28 generator help??? please

so i recently got a 28ft 78 argosy 28, i'm new to the RV world(i know nothing), and i have a few question about the Onan generator onboard. first is how do i turn it on?? i found a start switch on the generator but i tried that and it does nothing. does the ambilical cord need to be pluged into the 220 outlet in the same compartment? 2nd is there a switch some where inside that needs to be turned on?? 3rd from what the previous owner told me it workd but could use a rebuild. so where do i get a rebuild kit or can a small engine shop do this? sorry for stupid questions i'm just trying to get it working before the 12th when i take it out for the first time.

I assume when you say it does nothing that the generator does not start.
Check to see if the coach battery is charged. That is what is used to start the generator.

Yes cord has to be plugged into the generator output to power the coach.

As for any rebuild you will have to find a shop that can work on both the generator motor and the generator itself.
