50 amp conversion or 30/20 amp setup

I had an idea. It doesn't happen often but sometimes I get one. In my 83' 300 classic, there is an automatic transfer switch that engages when the power from the generator is applied to the coil. The idea I had was, couldn't you put one on the seperate 110v circuit for the second a/c where the default position is power from the generator and the tripped position is from another 110v 20 amp external power source? I thought I could put a plug somewhere on the exterior and using a seperate extension cord plug into another 110v circuit to run the #2 a/c. What do you think?

I am trying the same idea...I just hard wired the rear A/C to a extra plug down beside the main 30a connection.
That way I can plug the rear A/C into a regular 120v socket at campgrounds, and use the 30amp for front air and cooking etc.
I disconnected the feed from rotary switch to rear so I never feed power from two directions.
And I put dummy plug onto end of cord while traveling.

There must be a better way, but I could not figure out how the rear air received power direct from generator, without power showing up at generator when pluged in and switched to rear.

I'm going to try the automatic switch. It may be a month or so, but I'll post my results when I get it done.
