Under camper accent lighting

I'm thinking of attaching some sort of led accent lighting under trailer. Not comfortable with drilling holes to mount support without knowing what's behind skin. I'm thinking about using four or so strip lights. I would attach strips with rivets.

For mount points? One string down center? Just a bit fore or act of belly pan rivets. I think after would be best.

Along each side, same. Just an "awl" may punch a nice clean hole.

Make sure you don't punch try any "tanks".. running on port and starboard would minimize that potential....

Try doublestick tape

3M makes a great doublestick tape call VHB (very high bond). There are different thickness of it to adapt to surface conditions.

I have 3 big solar panels on my roof that are held on with nothing more than the VHB. They've been on for about 2 years now thru plenty of heat and freeze/thaw cycles, in addition to high winds and highway speeds.

I think there is also UHB (ultra high bond) tape available.

So cool!

That would be so cool to have led lights under! I'm assuming they need a wired power source. How /from where do you plan to run the power?

I used 120 VAC LED rope lights. Fasten to belly pan along frame with tie wraps and 1/2" stainless screws. Power and dimmer switch inside storage compartment.

Haven't sorted that out yet. I kinda need the kit in front of me, laid out where it will go then try to find a way to power without much invasion of skin.

Under camper accent lighting

DB-

I did ours with an inexpensive 12v blue rope light string from amazon that came with a cheap vhb tape attached to the back of the string. I also ordered a 12v controller with remote that lets you do effects and adjust the brightness remotely. You could do an rgb string if you want more color.

I wiped the sides of the underbelly tank enclosure down with rubbing alcohol on our 27fb and stuck the rope lights on, completely covering 3 sides of it. I just bent the string around the corners, and if I lost 1 or 2 leds with the bend no big deal. I ran a 12v line to the battery box on the tongue and put the receiver there behind a fuse holder.

Easy, inexpensive project they gives us a cool blue glow under Pete wherever we camp! Hope this helps.

Check out the VAP on YouTube for Tim's video. I've got two led strips running around bottom of my '54. 12 volt system soon to be music controlled. Also have a remote for dialing up colors. Inexpensive and tre cool.
VHB 3M tape works great!

I'll try the tape. I have a 7 color led light kit with 4 strips and RC coming. It also syncs with music, but not sure I'll use it. May add a couple more strips if it needs it.

Blue LED lights glowing under the trailer would be awesome.
I have thought about it quite often, but haven't done anything yet.

I mounted leds they sell for motorcycles, 4 to a block, 5 blocks. VHB to a bracket (cut up license plate) to set angle, then VHB to the belly skin. Tied together with cheap speaker wire, soldered connections, wiring secured with VHB wire clips, to the battery box. I leave them on full time unless I'm on battery only.

Nice, got my light set in and just stuck them on underneath to get an idea if on set would do. The set has four strips, two @ 48" and two @36". Last night it looked good enough, I'll stay with the one set. Move camper tomorrow and will install in the next few days. I'll take pics once done.

Here are few shots of the mockup. Pretty pleased, plan to go fwd with install. Not sure I can trust tape underneath, so have to sort that out.
