Top clearance lights on 13 panel whale tail?

It's decision time for Elvis and I need some discerning eyes. Front and rear clearance markers were often installed aftermarket on vintage and I've seen them on 13 panels. But never on a whale tail.

I'm toying with the idea. I have clearance light envy and like the idea of better visibility. Here's Elvis "naked".

Try to imagine a shiny trailer. Here's some Photoshopped possibilities (big red numbers smudged out for less distraction). First, set close together, then set wide apart.

Whaddaya think? Naked or not? I'm not necessarily a vintage purist, but I don't want to be downright tacky either.

Wow, Nice Tanks - could you get them any bigger? Oh, ya, lights - look at the lights, look up Mike......

If you do get them I vote for the three spread out. I do like the polish look of the whale tail though without lights.

I think the lower set display pattern is more better.

My Liner did not have upper clearance lights originally and I decided to leave them off.

Funny.... I'm envious of the whaletail "naked" look! Maybe you could update the tail lights to LED's if you really need more light.

No Vintage Purist to it at all. It would be like taking a Cadillac Eldorado , putting neon lighted dayton wire wheels on it to match the red velour interior, zebra striped pillows, leopard skin steering wheel cover, snakeskin speaker system, gold plated door handles, headlight hoodies, naked lady hood ornament and mud flaps. The SOTR is the most beautiful streamlined piece of art out there.....the smooth lines of the whale tail or the design features of the 13 panels don't deserve adornment. Of course, I am a firm believer in doing whatever you want to your Airstream...it is yours and that is the enjoyment of it all. Disco lights are always a good choice. That Cadillac Eldorado might make a nice tow vehicle too.

I vote for naked. The smoother the lines, the better it looks... and extra marker light kind of break up the classic lines. Well, that's what I think anyway. But yeah... do what y'gotta do. :-)

Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds.

On the front, two lights only, as far apart as possible, at 45 degree angles, so they look like devil horns.

On the back, many clearance lights, in varying shades of red, to look like the fires of hell, where I'll surely be banished for my suggestion.

Thanks, Ranch, yeah, that pretty much puts it in perspective. The visual is nauseatingly cheap, sleazy and pimpish in spite of being bit amusing. The lights on the front didn't bother me, but wrapping my head around the whale tail just wasn't working. So, naked it is, front and rear.

Thanks everyone, for your sage wisdom and advice.
