Taillight Can Questions

Hey all!

I'm about to upgrade my taillights and backup lights to the LED ones I have. Quick question...how do I remove these cans? ! Just drill out the rivets?

Also, is the fiber optic sensor fried in this one?

thanks!
Drill out the rivets.

The fiber optics can be used with some of the round LED tail lights.

The optics look OK.

Thanks andy. Do the 4" LEDs I got from you guys typically mount (adhesive/glue) OVER the existing cans, or do people usually mount them to the back of the cavity when the can is out?

Thanks,
Leo

Leo.

Remove the cans all together, as they are no longer needed.

Carefully drill a # 30 hole dead center in the back of the light, about 3/8 inches deep. That will allow you to insert the fiber optic cable. Seal the cable in place with a little sikaflex or silicone.

Thanks Andy, will do!

So I started attempting to drill out the rivets... not as easy as I thought! Whats the trick for doing it from the "other side"???? I've done them easily from the front...but never from the back. The drill bit just keeps slipping off.

Any tips?

Thanks!

Snip them off with wire cutters or twist them off with pliers.
