Tail Light Canisters
I spoke with Steve at Vintage Trailers last week and he is seriously considering making these canisters for our community. The original stock was depleted a few years ago and can no longer be purchased. It appears that this type of can was used in model years 1969 to 1974, which is a pretty sizable number of trailers. Doesn't sound like a metal replacement is feasible, which I think is a good thing. Corrosion is a problem with metal. ABS or fiberglass would be better, but would require grounding the socket another way. Those who would like to see Steve add this to his already impressive list of vintage items, should call him and encourage this addition. Guys like him in the Airstream community need our support.
Sure, the LEDs are a nice option, but not everyone is crazy about the look and the loss of the fiber optic monitoring. As I always say, options are nice.
