Swap 12V LED for 110V Bulbs?

I am wondering if I can hook up a standard 110 light fixture to the existing 12 wires and then use a screw-in 12v LED bulb? If so, this would eliminate the need to fish wires from the fuse box to the light fixtures. Can it be done? Thanks!

Yes you can. I currently have a standard light fixture running on 12 volt DC. As long as the wires are heavy enough to carry the power. going from 110 v AC to 12 v DC is easiest. If the wire can carry the higher volts with the average watts being 60 watts, then 12 v at 60 watts is a breeze. You can buy a 12 v DC bulb that screws right into a standar socket right at NAPA. Just ask for it as one is used in a 12 v lead light that attaches to the battery via clips. Take a marker & write a rminder on the inside of the fixture where the bulb goes. Otherwise you could go crazy trying to figure out why it won't work when you replace it with a regular 110 v AV bulb.
