Supernight failure

I've bragged so much about my $25 Supernight led strip, it finally failed on me.

I assumed it couldn't be the strip. The power supply was getting power (blue led on in the power pack) so I changed the battery in the remote. Still nothing. So I ordered a new remote and connector box. Still nothing. I'm assuming now the metal staples linking the 16' strip together are the problem. They look a little funky now.

So I've ordered a new strip and will see if that works. Might be thinking of a plan B C and D soon...

Anyone else have issues like this?

😞

Those "staples" look like solder joints between strip segments. You might be able to heat them with a soldering iron to get better continuity. The part directly connected to the power supply should still light up now even if these intermediate connectors are broken/bad.

Thanks Dennis. The good news about these lights is they're sealed in a silicone sort of tube so they're waterproof. The bad news is - working on those joints probably means throwing it out and replacing.

Oh well....it's not too expensive an experiment 😕
