Suggestions for gel insertion?

Hello,

Could anyone provide any tips on inserting a colored gel behind the glass lens of these Airstream fixtures? I really don't want to break the light fixtures. I am inserting an led bright white to warm white color correcting gel filter (Lee #624).

Looking at the fixture, you can see two concentric metal rings, with the third piece of metal being the body of the fixture.

Carefully prying the second ring from the body with a pen knife will provide access to the LED assembly and glass lens.
