Step / porch light
1999 34' Excella.
I can't figure out how to remove the assembly from side of the AS without damaging something...
It appears I will need a new one to replace it with once removed.
I look forward to your advice.
"Thanks" in advance!

OK, I see now. I think those are referred to as "docking" lights or "courtesy" lights.
Tape around it with two layers of blue or green painter's tape to protect the skin from when a tool slips. (it happens) Then take the screws out, use a plastic razor blade or other pointed plastic tool to cut the sealant and separate the light from the skin. If it is very tough, heat it with a heat gun or hold a rag soaked with mineral spirits over it for a while to soften the sealant. If the sealant is Acryl-R or Parbond, mineral spirits won't work very well.
Easy peasy.

Is there a reason to remove it? I was going to change mine too, but decided it was easier to buy a new cover and upgrade the bulb to LED. The minimal heat from the LED will prevent the lens cover from yellowing and melting.

I did the LED thing, too, using one of these I think. It works perfectly, throwing far more light where we need it than I expected.
Of course the OP might be replacing it because the fixture is bad, or something like that... an LED won't help with that problem.

The fixture is still "serviceable"... For now. I was going to replace because there is some corrosion which is why I sealed around it... To get more time before replacing. I cleaned out the socket...replaced bulb last year.
I need to get another lens/cover and LED before proceeding.
Thanks!
