Should this be a blinker light?

I want to replace those lights, the covers on both sides are gone and on the other side the wires are clipped. Not sure if they're supposed to be blinkers, or if they're just on all the time or what. Also not sure if they're supposed to be red or yellow....Im thinking maybe they're blinkers and should be yellow but I don't want to buy replacement parts and have them turn out to be wrong.

I believe that you can buy replacement lenses from VTS ( Vintage Trailer Supply ) I was just on their site and noticed them.

I am not sure these are supposed to blink. I think they are used as a marker light and are red. This is based on what I have seen on other trailers similar to yours.

They are red marker lights that do not blink. Those covers cost about $30 each from VTS.

I bought those small, red LED marker lights that are mounted outboard of the tail/stop lights, from a truck accessory store - ask a trucker who has LED lights in your area...

Here's some pics...I think I only paid about $8 each for those small LED markers:

On my '76 that's a tail / running light.

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.
