you might post some photos of the light. I had a 72 Tradewind and the plastic switches for the light and scare light are to the right of the door by the window when you enter. The trailer uses the aluminum frame for ground and one hot wire (could be any color- white or red) that is hot that attaches to the base of the bulb. But the rocker switch is pretty cheap and most probably your problem.

We found a rocker switch at an auto parts shop and was able to get the light working. Thanks.
