Running light problems

I have a 76 sovereign & cant get the running lights to work. My tv is a04 F350, The plug has power on my test light until I plugin then it loses power on both sides. I have wired lots of trailers before but never any rv trailers with their own power source

I had this same proplem with my trailer. What I found was a bad spot in the ground wire on the trailer where the cable had been repaired many years ago, before it wen't into the trailer. Respliced it and has worked ever sense.

I agree. More times than not, it's usually a grounding issue if your TV and connections are checking out OK.

It does sound a lot like a ground problem. It's also possible over the past 30 years of so someone messed with the wiring. As far as the "rv trailers with their own power source" the running, brakes and turn lights run off the TV not the battery in the coach.
