Question Reverse/ Back-up Lights on a 1950's trailer

All,

If there already has been a thread on this, I failed at finding it. However, I feel like this must have been done before and I need some guidance:

I have a 1959 Pacer which obviously had nothing more than two Bargman No.99's on the back for exterior lighting. However, I'm big on safety and I really want to put on some reverse lights for when I'm backing up the trailer.

Problem is, I really want to keep the vintage look and feel to the exterior, plus I like keeping it plain (and shiny of course) in general. Ideas I've had so far are installing the 3 teardrop lights above the window as clear reverse lights, hiding a couple small lights inside the bumper housing, modding the bargman lights to have the lower half be clear, or abandoning the idea altogether and just having a backup alarm with a toggle switch relay inside the TV.

After writing all those out, I think the only one I'm truly willing to do while compromising the look would be the lights in the bumper.

Thoughts? Other ideas?

It sounds like you have already decided.

I put regular BU lights under the Bargman lights. I don't think the look is that bad.

I kinda like it. I didn't think it work on the vintage look, but I never considered anything ones that small. I was focused on trying to match the wedding cake size and style. Do you have any full shots of the rear? (that's not something I say too often)

And see, its ideas like these that I need. People, keep them coming!
