Replacement for original 1970s round ceiling light fixture

I need to replace the ceiling lights in my 1977 Argosy MH. I see that the plastic lens/cover is available at Inland RV. Is a replica of the original fixture or a near replacement available?

I don't like any of the current ceiling light options at Camping World. I like the warm light of the original fixture as opposed to the bright white light of the newer fixtures.

I'd like LED lights but again, I don't like the bright white light.

What's wrong with the fixtures you have?

You can get warm white LEDs, but I would ask for a demonstration of them before buying them. Some warm white is kind of greenish. You can get the switches and covers from any Airstream dealer. I'll have to check to see if the base is still available.

Andy,

Blow up the first picture. The base of the fixture is cracked and melted. Fixtures pretty much fell apart when I took them down to pull the ceiling panel.

Fred.

As a suggestion, you could add a "backer plate" of thin aluminum, to the backside of the light base..

You could stick them together with super weatherstrip adhesive.

Just to bring some closure to this thread, I found a used 9" pizza pan at a local restaurant supply store that was a perfect fit for the base of the light fixture.

Thanks Andy! Your "backer plate" idea turned into that used 9" pizza pan that I picked up for $2!

Oh, I also have nylon spacers to go between the light fixture and the ceiling to allow heat to escape!

Yes but I highly recommend getting some 'warm white' LED bulbs instead. The incandescent bulbs seem to melt the base of the fixture as you can see in the pictures. I think my lights have the incorrect bulbs!

I did order some LED bulbs from Amazon and they were an awful bright white and Mrs. ViewRVs made me return them. I think Amazon now has them in a warm white color.
