Refrigerator fan switch or fan

I noticed in a picture that the refer switch when turned on, guessing this is in the normal up position that it is lit up. So I am guessing my switch is shot, maybe not the fan itself. Problem is getting the switch out, it has zero slack in the wires, if I pull on it, it will disconnect all together. I am guessing it is not a fuse either since everything works inside, except the refer fan of course.

2005 19' Bambi frig fan / switch

[QUOTE=dugan;1850979]I noticed in a picture that the refer switch when turned on, guessing this is in the normal up position that it is lit up. So I am guessing my switch is shot, maybe not the fan itself. Problem is getting the switch out, it has zero slack in the wires, if I pull on it, it will disconnect all together. I am guessing it is not a fuse either since everything works inside, except the refer fan of course.

The problem is, the fan never comes on when running the frig on electricity. So I don't know if it is the switch or fan, or both that is shot???

check the fuse for the fan. it is in the side vent compartment outside the triler. mine was near the top vent opening. you can see where the fan temp. control is connected to the fin at top back of fridge and the wires follow to the fuse. my fuse was out and the fan light on switch and fan would not go on. it is a glas fuse so may not even look bad to your eye. get a NEW ONE AND SEE IF THAT IS IT GOOD LUCK

The fan switch controls the 12-volts DC going to the PC-type fan in the outside, upper vent next to the Bambi's entry door. There is also a thermostat in the circuit; so the fan may NOT run, even though the switch is ON (top side of rocker switch is depressed).

Also, this fan is wired separately from the 12 VDC and 120 VAC power used by the refrigerator; so fan operation is completely independent of all refrigerator settings, including OFF.

The light in the fan switch on our 19' stopped working several times...and we replaced it several times... We finally gave up on the light... the switch still works without the light in the switch working... the top side of the toggle switch is down for "on" ... lower side of toggle switch is down for "off". And yes, the fan is on a thermostat, so the fan may not run even with the switch in the "on" position. It depends on the temp being detected by the sensor.
