Hi John (and others),
I make molds all the time! I am also (in my other life) a custom goldsmith and have been making jewelry for 32 years (Custom Jewelry, Island Metalworks Custom Goldsmiths
). I use a non-destructive silicone molding compound that will make a PERFECT reproduction of ANY material, (except liquids, of course!) even a leaf from a plant and it will have every detail present. I've done a lot of strange things like motorcycle parts, lamp parts and even out of production marine hardware, as well as jewelry.
If you need a new part made, I can also cast them in pot metal right into this mold, or cast them in bronze, sterling silver, gold or platinum, depending on your budget
Anyway, let me know if you need this type of service!
