Porch light plug recepticle.

I got a 'coach light' style porch light from Ebay. However, it requires a scew-on recepticle (chrome) plug cover which I would prefer. My plug cover is a lift up cover. I have searched many electrical suppliers online and have not gotten close to what I need. Marine suppliers seem to be the most likely to carry it. Perhaps one of you Good People could help me narrow my search. Thank you.

Neil.

I saw them in Home Depot, and Ace Hardware, about a year ago. They were about $12 at the time. If you have no luck finding one, you can always send the light to me, I've been looking for one...

Or he could send the light to me, I am closer.

sure...a big help.

Yeah, you guys are a big help. I only got this light a few weeks ago on Ebay. Either you weren't paying attention or I out bid you. It was probably a bit pricey but I WANTED IT! Now as for the ACE Hardware for a resource. I am a regular at our local one I will feel a little sheepish to you if that obvious resource proves fruitfull. But it will be worth the embarrasment. Keep checking Ebay!

Thanks,
Neil.

Neil,

We are always here to help.

BTW, if you see the half on the light at Ace Hardware, let us know. With that part it might be possible to assemble the light.

I am always watching Ebay for such items. Rob Baker just picked one up last weekend, I was thinking about bidding, but then I saw that he was, so I just watched.

I was paying attention, and saw that light and one or two others run through Ebay. Unfortunately financial considerations precluded my participation in the auctions.

I, reluctantly, paid $75 with shipping for it. My wife gave me a big frown, really big frown, but I am still alive. Ah, welllll... I guess she will feel justified with some frivilous spending and I won't...can't say anything! My justification was I almost bought a nice looking home carriage light at Home Depot but it and the modifications to make it fit would have cost more....does that reason work?

OK - you all try to talk him out of the light (which I bid on just for kicks) what I want is the Stainless exterior grade outlet cover. I've called and emailed every major manufacturer without any luck. Neil, can you please tell me the mfg. name that's stamped on it.

I'd prefer the single - our outlet is inside the curbside storage door and I want to turn it out on the skin. At least they are out there - had about given up. Thanks...!!!!!

Neil, there's a OLD local hardware here - if you can't find what your looking for let me know and I'll look there for you.

Just get Neil to sell you his once he replaces his outlet recepticle although he may want to recoup some of his spending from the Ebay auction.

Just a "Pat. Pending" is on it. I removed it and looked all around it. It appears to have come with the trailer.

It is threaded.

The recepticle or rather the cover to it on my trailer has the spring closer weather cap. I want to replace it with a threaded opening as the light has a threaded collar (see my photo at begining of this thread) and yes a single. The weather cap for the threaded model has a screw on cap with a 'safety' chain. Again consult the picture. If I find what I want/need I will definitely consider giving my old one to one of you who may want it. It is the least I can do for the attention this is getting.
