I finally made it home for my Spring Break, and located the original pacakge in which my receptacle had been packed. It appears to have been on the shelf since the 1970s (I purchased it via E-Bay in January or February of this year). It was manufactured in the USA by:
Perfect-Line Manufacturing Corporation
Lindenhurst, (Long Island) NY 11757
The outlet cover with Outlet carried their Part Number: WR79
I double-checked, and it works with both of my porch light fixtures -- I purchased a second fixture for my Minuet, and bought this NOS part for the Minuet. The first price sticker on the package was for $3.59 and the last price sticker was $12.95 -- a close approximation of the price that I paid -- multiply the last price by a factor of 3.
I had checked all of the RV and Marine Catalogs as well as all of the nearby electrical supplies trying to find the part -- and the response was always -- "obsolete, I haven't seen on of those in years" -- "I have never seen such a thing".
Good luck with your search!
Kevin

Thank you, Kevin; I tried much of the same sites you described without getting close. I went to several electric suppliers here + an RV store. I got 2 recommondations to try a rv salvage yard in Sacramento which I will do soon. The place looks cool so for those interested here is the web address. <rvdrgeorge.com>

Actually I found many at an rv salvage yard. I recieved a suggestion to visit RV DR. GEORGE in Sacramento to where I found several boxes of these cover plates. However. it isn't chrome or aluminum that can be polished. I don't think the expense of having it chromed is worth it until I have other things that I wish chromed. I've had reasonable success with spray chrome paint. I may get it to look good enough to be seen from your house. Thanks for all your help and suggestions.

Glad you found it - looks like it's in good shape. Wouldn't happen to have the phone number or address of that salvage yard you could share?
I do feel bad for the outlet you have now however. Knowing it will be put in storage - never again to experience the kiss of morning dew - the rush of wind across it's shiny face. Never again to hear the giggles of small children while camping - or the whispers of conversation from around a bright crackling campfire. Missing the soft caress of a loving owner polishing it...
Your victory, in finding your quest, is indeed bitter sweet....

Your romantic sentiments of an inanimante object moves me. The salvage yard has a web site; <rvdrgeorge.com> I made my selection from about a dozen. They were $10 each.

Neil,
Nice find, now if we can only locate the part which goes on the porch light itself. We can make as many porch lights as we need.

Before I found the vintage porch light I was considering adapting a nice looking brushed aluminum carriage lamp I saw in Home Depot. I would acquire 2 of the cover plates with screw on caps and sacrifice one of the caps. I thought cutting a hole in the cap and inserting a short EMT with the plug and lamp mounted on each end. However, the aluminum lamp's rounded styling would be better suited to the newer AS.

Hey Neil; why don't you buy all the stuff George has for sale, sell it at a markup and split the difference with me for being your informant!! Then we could afford to buy mass quantity of Vernors and Moxie for the Forum Rally in 10 days. DG
