Wink Over-cabinet LED strip lights...YAY!

Decided to tackle on some DIY with LED light strips from LEDLIGHTS.COM. Bought multi-changing LED strip lights with remote control so I can change the intensity, light colors, etc. I can even make it flash in different intervals for those DISCO nights when I'm in the mood. LOL!

I placed strips (which can be custom lengthened) over each overhead storage cabinets of our 2008 27ft Safari. They were all easy to splice into the existing overhead lamp DC powered lights. Took me a total of 4 hours or so for the whole project.

I actually tried rope lighting first. They operate only on 110 volts. So I put one under the middle table between the 2 twin beds and a strip under the dinette. Looks awesome too when plugged in to the 110 volt. The LED strips are better!

I will take pics and post later.

They look good. Where are those on the ledlights.com site? I couldn't find them...

Also, how did you mount them?

They have 3M stick tape so they can be mounted on flat, smooth surfaces. Make sure you clean the surface with alcohol first to rid of it of dust, etc.

Another great idea from this forum. Maybe I can mount LED lights that take the pink color out of the carpet! Thanks for the idea.

Here is an alternative to the color changing variety, albeit a bit more boring:

We've put in those LED strip lights over the cabinet doors in our '71 TradeWind. We also replaced the downlights with LED bulbs. The up front cost of the bulbs is higher, but it means we can run all the lights we want and not max out the 200W solar cells on the roof.

We got our LED strips from LEDWholesalers.com
