No running lights

Brake and signals work fine. Can anyone tell me what to look for?

With the parking lights on with a volt meter or test light check the 11 o clock tab in the receptacle on the TV. If no voltage there the problem is in the TV.

If voltage there check the brown wire at the trailer end of the umbilical cord where it enters the trailer. If none there the problem in in the plug or cord.

If you are lucky, the problem will be as simple as I encountered two weeks ago when taking our trailer out.

Hooked it up, brake lights working, turn signals working, no running lights.

Unplugged the cable from the truck, plugged it in and out a couple of times - back in again all lights working! Poor connection in the plug! Always a good thing to check first!

If the contacts in the plug / socket look corroded or dirty you can often brighten them up a bit with a small needle file or similar, (being careful not to short anything!) Then a dab of dielectric grease could help as preventative mtce.

Brian.
