no lights at all exterior

Hello,

So we just got our truck. The PO gave us a connection to hook up the AS to the truck. The lights work just fine on the truck when it is plugged in, but none of the lights work on the AS.

All the light bulbs are good, and we have the trailer connection in right. So why are the lights not working?? Can anyone help?

Does the battery have to be in the box? We took it out to clean the connectors. We thought to unplug the AS from the main electrical outlet, thinking that was the problem. But it wasn't.

Any solutions for us? Thanks a bunch!

OK update... we got both break lights and both blinker lights to work... its just the running lights now. All hubby did was take off the covers and blow on them. The trailer had been sitting in the hot Arizona sun for 1 1/2 years... so there's dust and dirt

Any suggestions for the running lights or just basically pull them apart and clean them and hope to God they work? Lol

Along with the bulbs themselves, try plugging the umbilical cord in to the truck outlet, and unplugging it several times. It is common for the connections there to become dirty or corroded and just 4 or 5 in and outs of the plug in the outlet will wipe the contacts clean and they will work again. I often have to do this when my trailers and tow vehicle have been sitting for a few months. Sometimes only one thing will not work, like the running lights, or one stop/directional light, or even the brakes themselves, and everything else will be working. That causes some head scratching.

So, try that along with your other things.

I encountered the same problem once and discovered that there was a fuse blown in my truck. It was labeled "trailer running lights," or the equivalent. Replaced the fuse and the problem was solved.
