The molded-on 7 pin connector on our trailer umbillical connection has let go of the cable sheath and loads are being taken by the wires. This won't do (and won't last), so I want to cut the plug off and replace it w/ one that has a positive grip on the cable w/ a screwed down strain relief.

Who makes a good one of these?

Every one I have purchased has a screw down strain relief.
You can get them at NAPA. The last purchase was from Wal Mart.
Used them to wire a battery with both male and female plugs for a solar panel.
I also installed a receptacle in the side of the coach to be able to plug in a second battery or the solar panel.

Don't forget alternatives. Most RV stuff is low quality.

One can also fab pigtails as needed.

Thanks guys... that high-tech version looks neat, but w/ my three trailers I'm pretty stuck w/ the standard plug. I keep hoping to find a better one, but it looks like the best stuff is all for round pins,.

Cheep Plastic is fine for me..

The expensive plastic breaks about as good as the cheep stuff when you back into something that you know wasn't there when you looked over your left shoulder.

Bart,

For lack of change I still have the original plug that uses 9 round pins and has worked very well.

I haven't had any issue with corrosion or poor connections. The contacts are made from brass and it is a pain to get the connection in and out. I attribute this to the pins being very tight.

This plug accepts two 8 gauge for charging wires the rest are 10-12 gauge for lights and other functions.

I just installed a Hopkins Endurance trailer cable repair plug. I do not recommend it. Very difficult installation, no strain relief. I thought it would offer something better, nope. Hopkins does however offer some interesting plug and play TV harness connectors. I haven't found one that impressed me for a 7 blade connector repair plug so far.
