need help identifying a exterior light (?) for 1970 Sovereign

Hi,

I'm renovating a 1970 Sovereign. On the exterior, on the side but close to the end, there is a light (?) that appears to have two small red LEDs (?). The housing for this rotted away; I'm trying to determine its function and replacement part. Photos attached...

Also, above the front door there is a light fixture, but no 'guts' to it. What type of socket/fixture should I install here? (more photos attached).

Thanks so much for any advice anyone may have!!

Mark, Those two Lights are Fiber optic sensor to let you know if your rear taillight/brake light bulbs are working and lit! The cover in most instances was plastic but you can fabricate a new one out of aluminum. Over the main cabin door is a porch light fixture. It should be 12 volt fixture and an aluminum cover over it. Thanks!!

Thanks so much Ed, mystery solved!! I'll check that out when I try to get the tail lights running & try to make some sort of decent-looking installation for it. Its a great idea - I wish cars had some sort of sensor to tell you when you've for a tail light out - new invention? !!
