Need a light fixture over sink before I take a gun and shoot this one!

Got a connection problem..sometime it works and of course most of the time it does not.

think it is a switch problem..what about a new one..where? 1999 Excella..you know those 2 light jobies with the switch in the middle.

For future reference, holding your own light fixture hostage may not work as well as you think!

Before replacing the switch, have you tried opening up the one you have to make sure all of the connections are tight and dry? Intermittent operation is the result of a loose connection more often than not.

If you have an intermittent light try Dynamic service. With the lens out turn the light on. if it does not light tap the bulb lightly with your fingernail. This will test for a broken filimant that sometime makes contact. If that did not fix it wiggle to switch while it is in the on position. This will test for a loose connection in the switch.

Beyond that it is take the light down and make sure the connection to the trailer wiring are tight.

If all that fails I would change that fixture with another one and see if the problem moves with the change or remains at the sink. If it moves the fixture is the problem. If it remains at the sink the trailer wiring is the problem

The fixtures are so inexpensive at an RV dealer of any type I would not spend too much time trying to fix it. They are cheaply made and not worth the effort. It is not a special part. Take it down and with you when looking for another.

Great.. now I have an RV led light fixture with red and black wires. My rv wires are black and white. Connected the black to black and red to white...no light! Help!

reverse them, red to black and black to white.

It is common that the fixture uses red + and black - wires while the Airstream uses black as + and white as -.

Oh my gosh..we have light..thank you thank you! Another question why copper wires to aluminum in the old and new light fixtures?

I expect they are just tined wires (coated with solder) or something like that. I doubt that they are aluminum but who knows on off shore produced lights. If it works, love it. Glad you got light.
