moveable puck track LEDs
I just ran across this product while searching for a way to add puck lights to the center panel of the Silver Olive (rather than drilling holes for puck lights).
What do you think?

Just be sure to add "remove puck lights from track" to your departure checklist since I'm sure they'll work loose when you hit a bump. They're only held in place by friction on two tabs, that are also the electrical contacts.
Aside from that, I find the idea
illuminating.

There is, unfortunately, no "groan" smilie, so I'll have to go with "eek".

Just phoned Outwater - they (suposedly) have locks that secure the puck in place. I'll order a set and report back with the quality! Not too much $$$ for an experiment.

Looks very interesting. 12V? I am wondering if it can be wired directly to 12V? I requested the catalog.

I LOVE their catalog. It's about 3" thick and provides me HOURS of "leafing and dog earing". Though, I must admit, hours of review have only now resulted in a purchase.

Inconclusive.
I received the track and two pucks (one warm white, one bright). But I did not order the power supply: thinking I would wire it directly to 12V and not use the plug-in 110 with transformer. The supply is obviously "required" and must have a molded interface with the track 'cause I do not see any exposed wires. I could spend some time trying to figure it out but I don't like the look of the parts enough to do that.... the track is white but shows strips of silver tape along each edge (must be where the puck touches) and I don't like that exposure (nor the looks of the pucks) it enough to consider using. I'll try to post pics when I have some time.

I am glad to know that I am not the only one who spends hours looking through their catalog! That kind of catalog is the best...just look at all of that potential! Calling customer service is also entertaining. Having originated from NJ, it is nice to hear a voice from home
