this post has been a saver for me. I lost power in a over the stove light when I change the on/off switch. I lost power in the light and the center overhead light.
It sounds like the bad circuit breaker and I will check that today

My first guess on your problem would be a blown fuse on your 12 volt distribution board. When you were replacing the switch you may have shorted out the hot wire to ground and blown the fuse.
