'Light' switch

I recently purchased a 1985 31' Limited. There is an electrical switch on the wall behind the sink. The previous owner did not know what it's purpose was, but he thought it had "something to do with quicker hot water"? Switching it on and off has no discernible effect on anything. Any ideas? Any other 85s with the same switch?

Water pump switch - do you hear the pump running when switched on?

Porch light? Is there an outlet outside?

If it is the water pump switch you will have to be disconnected from city water to hear the pump come on.

If it is that do not run it for any length of time if the fresh water tank is empty

At least some of the 80's model trailers had a switch that controlled one duplex (AC) outlet that the converter was plugged into, allowing you to turn off the converter if you thought the batteries might be overcharging. I know in the 25' models the switch was in front of the door.

We have an '88 limited that has the same switch. It controls the instant hot water dispenser at the kitchen sink. I guess it is for making instant coffee or hot tea but we have never used it. The tank is 1/3 gallon and is located directly below the dispenser under the sink.
The switch actualy controls a dedicated outlet under the sink that this thing plugs into. I just unplugged ours as we never use it.
Please let us know if that is what you have.

If trailer came with microwave oven, it switches between roof A/C and Microwave for 110V power.. Main circuit breaker can only allow 1 of those two to run at a time... Try to power up microwave or look at display and flip switch and you may see it go dark as outlet loses power.. Our switch inside cabinet over stove.. We were not aware until after we blamed shop that did work on roof vents of shorting out the dedicated microwave in cabinet over refrigerator... (We did apologize as we got smarter..)

Light switch

Thank you all for your input. Let me try to address your responses in one post.
1. Not the water, unit has two, main at front panel and one in bath
2. Not the porch lite, that switch is by the door
3. Not the converter plug, the PO installed a switch to turn the converter off behind the sofa
4. Microwave switch is on that wall but is an identified switch
5. Cantrell might be onto something. I will have to look further under the sink. Do not remembers small tank. I do have a water purifier canister under the sink connected to that single handle "faucet". it NASA replaceable filter.
I'll check out the instant hot water theory when we get home from Italy.
Thanks for all your help.
Any morethiughts?

On my '91 that switch turns off/on a duplex outlet that is in the wall, below the sink inside the cabinet. An instant hot water tap can be added and that is where you plug it in.
