LED upgrade for 1974 Monarch Backup Lens

I have been seeing an LED upgrade for the Monarch Backup Lens which is the 4.25x4.25 lens. I see where you are suppose to glue the LED pad to the back of the Lens.

Click here to see a KIT for the whole tail light.

It looks to be very bright. My question is, has anyone tried it and it so, how well do they work?

TT

Did you try these

I would like to convert the tail lights on my 1976 Sovereign to LED. I wonder if this would do it.

Thanks

Don

Don -- It should work on the '76. Taillight housing is a different shape, but the lens' are the same. Can't tell but the light indicator on the side of the rig may not work; unless the maker has a rear mounted LED to line up with the FO cable. -- Ashley.

Here is a thread that will help you:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f447...ras-23542.html

I show in there what I did for my tail lights. However, I did nothing with my backup lights, until now. I bought a load of LED lights (1141 replacements) to do my entire interior lighting. I also bought two for taillights. It was this product:

www.LEDwholesalers.com - BA15s White 8-30V DC&12V AC 9LED 2Watt 144 Lumen

WOW! This make a huge difference! Before the backup lights were just to warn humans that you were backing. Now you might actually be able to see something. I am going to post an entry to my blog and I will inform any one here.

Roger,

Am I reading it correctly that it requires 30v DC to operate? If so, where are you getting the increased voltage?

I believe this reads 8 ~ 30 volts, meaning that it will accept from 8 up to 30 volts.
