LED Lighting

I would like to replace all of the 12v lights in my argosy with LED lighting(exterior and interior). Does anyone know of a company that sells them for a "resonable" rate considering the amount of lights involved?

I just ordered some from Dan (Airforums member) for our '97 after trying to go even cheaper on EBay from China. The LED's arrived from China and didn't fit. It took me six weeks to get my $ back, and I feel lucky.

You can contact Dan by pm at Dan@LED4RV. He can answer any questions about LED lighting and will work with you on your budget.

LED Light Quality?

Are folks finding that the newer LED's can match the nice color quality of halogen?

Dan, if reading this, any thoughts?

Cheers,

Jim

Jim,
I have seen were LED lights do a better job in some cases and not so in others. It has more to do with what the light reflexs off of. In the Airstream CCD's that are mostly silver they work very well. In tan and off-white it can pay to pick and choose which lights to use were. Below is a link to a post I did that shares some information about it, and why.

We just upgraded all of our lights in our Safari to LED -- the ceiling lights, the reading lights (halogen lights in corners by the couch / bed and our outdoor patio light).

Dan - from LED 4 RV hooked us up -- fast delivery, and we are very happy with the quality of the light. We went with warm led lights.

For the fixtures near the main door one in the hall, we used two pads (one for each side). For the majority of the lights, we used a fixture that went into a single socket, with two pads. To install these, you would have to remove the fixture, and fish the pad from one side to the other.

For the dual pad lights, here is the link:

1156 Socket with 42 Warm White LEDs on 2 Pads 1156Px2WW [1156Px2WW] - $19.95 : LEDs 4, Recreational Vehicles

The halogen replacements are awesome -- very bright, and do not put out the heat of a halogen.

I recommend the LED replacement for the scare light, as the original bulb that the trailers come with tends to melt the lens. I also replaced the reading light bulbs in our trailer, I got tired of feeling like I needed suntan oil when using the original lights. The new LEDs are even a bit brighter than the original bulb, draw almost no power, and generate almost no heat. Another plus is I will probably die before the LEDs will require replacement.

I replaced all the lights in ours. Got them from Dan as well. Very good service. I also replaced the scare light. I had put a new one in (not LED) 3 years ago. The lens had already shown signs of melting.
The really nice thing I find about LED is the temp in the summer. AS are hard enough to cool without having the old lights on.

I, for one , would not consider that a plus. Sal.
