LED Lamp Conversion

I am in the final stage of converting my 06 International CCD interior lighting to LED lamps and thought I would share a little issue I ran into along the way. The stock lights are halogen and have prismatic lenses. When I first installed some LED's I found that there were purple and yellow splotches on the upholstery and white curtains. It looked for all the world like the fabric was stained by urine! Not acceptable. After talking to every LED supplier in the world and getting "I have never heard of that before", I started to experiment. Long story short, the problem is the prismatic lenses. It separates the light into purple and yellow. Solution: I had my daughter, a jeweler, grind off the prismatics with her flexible shaft grinder and a diamond bit. It went very fast and produced a frosted lens that no longer diffracts the light from the LED lamps. Now to finish installing the gobs of lamps in the trailer.
