What kinf of bulb, and where do you get it, goes into this fixture?? It looks like it is 3 florescent bulbs hooked together and has a 4 prong plug on the end.

Can't help you with the fixture, but I can tell you that light was not installed by Airstream.

John,
I have owned this type of fluorescent bulb in the past. I think it used to be common in kitchen light fixtures. It is a circular tube and I think the ones I owned were marketed by GE. If you can't find one in a home improvement place like Home Depot, Lowes or Menards, I suggest you find a specialized lighting or electrical supply dealer. I would be surprised if you cannot find one.
Warm regards,
Jerry

you'll also need to know the diameter of the fixture. a mom/pop type hardware store would have it too.

not original? - goodbye!
Good to know it is not original. Will probably trash it and go for a better fixture.
Thanks Andy.

That's a good light. Buy the bulb in any hardware store. Throws lots of light, uses low power. The bulb is the same for the 110VAC or the 12 VDC, only the 12 Volt uses an electronic ballast.

I have seen them in some (very) old Airstreams, along with some older SOB units (like the 1950's..), but not in anything as new as his Safari. Depending on future plans for the trailer, a good option would be to install a 12 volt Thinlite surface mount light in that spot, provided there is or will be 12 volt power in the trailer.

Yep Ordered a new inverter thingy for my trailer to have proper 12v lights in the trailer. I guess the screw holes and round fading are there.

That looks just like the 3 Thinlites I installed in my '67 Trade Wind. Great lights, by far superior to the originals. Get Warm White fluorescent tubes and the color of the light in the AS is great.
