International CCD conversion to LED

I'm planning a conversion to LED's in the overhead lights in my 2007 25' International CCD prior to a long trip and have gone on websites for both Superbright LED's and LED4RV, finding similar, but not exactly the same, products on each. For budget purposes, I'm planning on converting only those lights that are on for any length of time - ie, not closets or OH storage bins - or exterior lights that are only on when traveling at night.

I have a 2007 International with G4 halogens in all OH fixtures except closet lights. For those of you who have done this conversion (I'm sure Robert Cross in particular will weigh in) can you tell me:

1) did you use different replacements depending on task, ie, lower lumens for general overhead (there are 8) and higher for task areas like sink, dinette, sofa, etc?
2) did you select different colors (cool white vs warm white) depending on task?
3) do you feel they are bright enough, especially for reading?
4) did you select the "disk" format? (Superbright said the tower style might get too warm for the LED circuitry)
4) is there any difference between these two vendors?

Thanks for advice in advance!

LED Conversion 2008 Safari SE

In the fall of 2011 I converted all of the interior lights of my 2008 Safari SE 27FB to warm white LED's. I worked with Dan Brown at LED4RV. Dan recommended specific replacements for each type of light. I took his recommendations and we are very happy with the results. We notice no difference in brightness versus the halogens they replaced. No issues with reading. I did not consult Superbright so I can't comment on differences between the vendors.

I also have had wonderful advise and service from Dan at LED4RV. Unlike a lot of Internet buying, Dan will talk to you over the phone to make sure he Only sells you what you need and/or want.

Talked to both. Dan called personally and was very helpful. I'll probably go with him - free shipping and his prices are a bit better.

Great information. We are evaluating LED bulbs to replace our 2008 International CCD lighting. As with Winetripper, we'll do the major lighting first and then move to the less used bulbs.
Did you all choose the disk type? How many lumens for reading? For general room lighting? Cool or warm white? I'll be sure to check LED4RV. Thanks.

I placed a good-sized order with Dan Brown at LED4RV, whose counsel and followup (he called me at about 8pm his time!) were excellent. I expect to receive the LED's tomorrow and will report on my experience.

Even if the prices would not have been better, you don't find awsome service like that at many places anymore.

Yeah, Dan doesn't sleep apparently. I've gotten emails written by him at 1 AM several times!

I also used his service and products....I am a very satisfied customer.

Cool vs warm white-- I like warm white for living space. Others like cool white. One thing I don't like is random cool white here, warm white there because someone doesn't order the right lamp. So my advice is keep the same color temp throughout all the fixtures in your trailer.

Have now had a couple of weeks using the new LEDS. Mostly quite satisfied. Recessed lights are fine. Sconce light pretty useless (but then so is the sconce!), as there us no good function for this light. Outside step light very bright. Cool white looks very institutional.

Overall experience - pretty good.

To add to the above - Dan was great with customer service when we recently replaced all the bulbs in our 2007 Safari SE, including replacing a bulb that was damaged and helping choose the correct products. Very, very pleased.

And it's amazing to have 10 recessed fixtures on, only consuming 1.0 amp total...

A much nicer LED light is these: LEDTrailerLights.com - LED Interior lights for RVs

I've been using them for a few years and have been very happy with them.

Hi Don,
We also have a 2007 International 25FB and we also use to live in Santa Barbara! In fact, we still lived in the neighborhood in Ventura until about a month ago. Looks like you have already done your upgrade but I wanted to share a blog post I just did about our LED upgrade with parts purchased from Dan @ LED4RV.com.
