Interior Ceiling Vent Fan

Hi, I'm a new, proud owner of a 1971 Overlander! I disconnected the interior ceiling vent fan to clean and did not write down the way it is to be reconnected. It has a red wire and a brown wire (trailer) that receives the male plug from the fan. The fan has a black and red wire. So, the first question is: 1. What's the match--red to red; black to brown?
2nd question is: 2. There are 3 prongs on the switch that will receive the wires. If I'm looking at the switch, there is a green capacity looking thing attached to the outer tabs. So, what wires go where? Thanks.
