there should be a small 4" x 4" ? box on the underside of the trailer. some are in the front center and some are off to the side. do you see anything like that?

There's no door under the front of the trailer. I crawled under there tonight. The cord goes directly into the trailer. I can't see if it's in front of the univolt without removing the couch. I'll have to get in there when I have more time. Looks like another project begins....

I just ran out to take a look under the couch in the daylight (before work). I can feel the umbilical cord coming up through the floor behind the Univolt. It then goes right into the wall. I can't "see" any of this because the univolt is in the way & I'm literally crawling under the couch. Does anyone know where the first place is in a 1986 Sovereign that has access to the umbilical harness? Do we have to take out the vent in the front of the trailer to see the wiring? I read in a thread that the wiring runs along the center of the roof? Well, I'll check here tonight again. Got to go to work!

Last night I was reading some threads about similar problems & made my husband read along. One forum member said he found his problem on the license light. My husband looked at me & said "you didn't remove that too did you?" Yes, I did & I put a new one on! Well, today he stopped home during the day & pulled the license plate holder/light off & found the short! I'm so happy, I could just cry! You can be sure that I'll be putting all my lights back on one at a time & making sure they each work as I put them on. That piece of advice should be yelled across this forum (I found it after my problem occurred). I never did find an access door to the umbilical cord & hope I never have to fool with it again after I get all the LED's in order! Thanks to all of you for your advice. I truly appreciate it!
