Halogen bulbs to LED 2006 Safari

Want to replace 20 W halogens w/ comparable LEDs.
Also want to replace 1141 with LEDs

Part #s and source?

Thanks in advance.

I'm sure this has been requested many times, but I'm foiled again by attempting to search the "lighting" section.

It would be nice if there was a excel spread sheet that had each model, what the current light bulbs are and what the LED equivalent is. Would thought that superbrightleds.com would already have this but they don't. I guess when I will swap mine out I will put up an exact list of every bulb replaced and save other the A$$ pain.

Yes, I agree a spreadsheet would be wonderful and may exist and if not then perhaps your prompt will get a vendor to create one.

X 2 on Dan at LED4RV. He is great to work with and knows his stuff. The website is pretty good, too. The LEDs are sooo much cooler than the halogens!

My 2008 Classic 25FB has a bunch of dimming spot reading lights with halogen. I'd like to replace them with LEDs. However are LEDs able to take dimmers? Will I have to replace my spot reading lights to convert?

x3 on calling Dan... He knows his stuff! He was having a really good sale a few weeks back on the pucks you will need. Not sure if it's still going on though.

We have the same 25' unit as you, we went with 4 of the 12 LED and the rest as 9 LED pucks in the "warm white" (more yellow, not blue at all) I put 2 of the 12 LED pucks in the hall by the shower and the other two in the kitchen. We're extremely happy with the lighting.

A word of caution - DO NOT force the pucks in to the socket or they will just break right off!! Ask me how I know this! Dan is such a good guy he sent me a replacement for FREE even though it was my own fault for forcing it.

Also I found if you cut the wire leads about and 1/8" short than they come they fit better in the housing but still not be exactly centered. (This will make more sense when you see them in your hands)

Hello HCR:

Many of you may wish to shoot me for the way I did mine.

I went on-line to EBay and typed into the search box "LED replacement light for 1141 Bulb". I looked through the ads that came up. Lots of choices!

I selected 10 LED's for $15.00 total, from China. They arrived in two weeks. I removed the bulbs and the LED's fit right in. All the LED's worked & seemed to be a tad brighter. (They all fit in the fixture which has a white plastic cover in the ceiling of my airstream).

They work for me. -- I just put them in and have no idea how long they will last. -- Can't hurt to check it out.

I can also recommend Dan at LEDs 4, Recreational Vehicles. He will have what you need and is very helpful.

We replaced all the halogens in our 2006 19' Safari SE with LEDs... very easy replacement ... take out the halogen bulbs and put int he LEDs ... no changes in the fixture necessary. And what a difference it made on battery drain ... and virtually no heat generated (those halogens are HOT)... Also replaced the incandescent bulbs in the bath and closet, etc with LEDS...again, easy peasy replacement.

I'm use to be all about the cheapest price. I have ordered many things online. But when something goes wrong, i.e. order screwed up, item broken, etc., getting it corrected is sometimes a hassle and sometimes imposable. Try to talk to someone live.....well.
Dan answers his calls.
Just saying.

I got mine from Wired Communications. Picked them up at Orlando hamfest. Available in either warm white or cool white. My light fixture lenses had some coloration the wasn't visible with incandescents but was with LEDs. It changed the color temperature. I'm going to try to mix and match so both lenses in each fixture are similar. You only notice it when both bulbs are on

Hi HCR,

+1 for LED4RV. Just swapped mine this weekend, super easy and a great upgrade especially for battery life. Spouse wanted "warm white", I wanted "bright white"... we compromised and got the "warm white."

Except now she doesn't love the color. The "warm white" throw a mildly green hue (blue of LED and yellow of the "warm" coating). What can you do?

Good luck!

Most folks prefer the warm white LEDs, but we tried warm and didn't like what they did to colors so we switched all to the cool white... It's a different light, taking a bit of getting used to, but we like it a whole lot. Have not had to replace one yet...installed them in July 2010.

In Shenzhen China, Picked up every LED bulb for my 27FB and total cost under 100 US. I have spares too. Thought it was a pretty good deal for about 40 Led bulbs in all different sizes and configuration. It did help to have the actual bulbs that I was looking to replace with me.
