Hall lamp wiring?

Well Bonehead me can't figure out how to wire my hall lamp back. Looks like the PO had re-wired it & reinstalled it using just electrical tape, but the lights would work sometimes and some times not. Sooo I pulled it down to figure out the why, it was the switch. Now the switch is supposed to have 3 wires that connect to the lamp mine had only 2 and was re-wired to work with 2 wires. I found a old Airstream lamp, stripped the switch and I'm ready to wire it back together but I can't figure the wiring out. I think it's supposed to work w/ 2 lights and then 4 lights w/ each turn of the switch, maybe I'm wrong. Anyway can anyone tell me how to re-wire this lamp or point me in the right direction?Click image for larger version

I think this will work

First; make sure it will have a good ground. Next; connect the wires at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock to the black wire coming from the switch. then connect the wires at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock to the blue wire coming from the switch. Last; connect the red wire on the switch to the +12 volt supply.

TG Twinkie has it like you want 2 lamps / 4 lamps/ off.

The green wire goes to ground.
