Question Fluorescent light problem

I have a 2007 classic limited 27' AS. The fluorescent light above the galley sink doesn't work. I have replaced the tubes and removed the fixture from under cabinet to see if any wires were not connected. What should I try next?

if all else is good, then it is the ballast

how dark were the tubes at the ends? if very dark then the ballast could be toast.

nice guy to talk with and he knows the rv light industry.
kinda a new light to have issues...my 85 had 3 lights with bad ballasts and John fixed me up; 'course the ones I had were 25 years old.

good luck

I agree, sounds like the ballasts.

I have also dealt with John Drake Services. Good experience, and I won't hesitate to deal with them again.

I'd hook the fixture directly to battery or known 12 volt source and see if it works (observe polarity). Or verify the fixture is getting 12 volts. If fixture is faulty, look into ballast replacement or a new fixture.

More problems!

Thanks, everyone for your thoughts. The Thin-Lite tubes were dark and looking more closely at the ballast board, it appeared to have blackened on one of the parts. Since the ballast is integrated into the light fixture, I went to an AS dealer and purchased a new fixture, 30 watts to replace the 16 watts light that was bad to get more brightness in the sink area. When I tried to wire the new light in, it still doesn't work and now the stove hood fan/light are not getting power and neither is the systems monitor. What have I done?

I'd go to the fuse panel and check for blown fuse. The fluorescent fixture needs to have polarity observed. Perhaps you wired it backwards and it blew the fuse? Or briefly shorted the wires when installing it. It doesn't take much to pop a fuse.
