Ok, I know it's not fishing line, but it sure looks like it! This wire is coming from the tail lights on a 1972 Overlander. If I ever get the exterior lights working, I plan on going camping.
See the clear "wire"...any idea which light this goes to? Back up? turn? Brake?
I'm stumped!!
thanks in advance for help...I've all ready learned alot from reading the forums!
On the street side of your trailer, about halfway up near the front is a light indicator ,it looks like it has 2 small bulbs in it.thr line you are refering to is a fiber optic line that goes to it. If working you can look in your mirror and tell if the lights are working. Dave

That is a prisim that mount in the back of the light fixture to catch the light. You should be able to repair it. I had to repair mine. I used a piece of vacumn hose, inserted the fiber optic wire in one end and inserted the hose thru the back of the light fixture. I epoxy it in place
VaGem which service manual (year) did you copy that page from?
Don't think it is in my '74 or '75 manual (but it may be there).
But the monitor system is on my '75 trailer.
