Yes. The front awning has been replaced by sunglasses since the photo was taken.

I sure would have bought one for my '76 if I still had her! You guys told me how it worked & I put it back together & it was perfect! Bessie moved on to a new home. My '86 doesn't have one of those, which I thought was way cool!

Nice, I have the sunglasses too. Did you/can you put the front awning on the back or is there one there already? I also see we share some of the same wrinkles.

I would like to speak for #10, if I may. I'll be happy to send a cheque to cover costs of manufacture and postage/packaging.

Maybe I should have ordered more. If they all go we are just going to share the cost to have them made.... $20.00 each plus the priority mail cost - I think that's like $4.00. Sure hope these come out nice - they are supposed to be done the end of next week.

There is one on the back already, it is even more threadbare than the front one. (and a different size)

Here is another similar thread. Doorgunner offered to use mine as a pattern and mold one out of fiberglass or carbon fiber. This is a winter project after camping season.

I'll get him the pattern at our October rally at Lake San Antonio and he'll take it from there.

My two cents

This is what I came up with. Although not perfect, I couldn't use my old one because it was shot. Tin snips, patience, and two or three prototypes. Used scraps of aluminum from previous patches on the 72. Vulkem and original screws and I can now move on to the rest of the trailer.

You have two things that I lack. Tin snips and patience!

I guess that makes 6 now spoken for.

Terry.

We have had those plastic covers for years.

Costs less than $15.00.

Stainless will outlast plastic anyday, especially in the sun, and I'm willing to bet that the cost is comparable to the plastic piece.

Well Here They Are

Picked up two prototypes today and ran them out to the trailer before the shop makes all 12. The photo shows the plastic cover I got from Inland and the model made from it at the top - then whats left of the original and the one made from it at the bottom. The one made from the original seats very well and sets off the skin (on mine) a perfect 16th.

I'm going to have them go ahead and run them. The other photo just shows it held on with tape. It has a nice overhang to shade the fiber optics from the sun. The finished product will be grained to match the skin better. Hope you all will like these.

Gary - They look great. This is definitely going to be better than my current "almost" black plastic cover. Thanks for your efforts. - Ashley.
