Exterior LED strip lights?

Has anyone tried to wire up adhesive waterproof exterior LED strip lights on their AS? I was thinking about tapping into the step light socket, and running (sticking on with adhesive) a 16ft (5m) strip of lights along the longitudinal central trim on the exterior door side. I found some waterproof strip light that draws about 5W per meter (so about 25W for the full length) and is not very expensive. I would probably try to augment the adhesive with some sort of mechanical clip as well.

My husband installing the LED lights on a strip with a sticky back (which he also put gasket adhesive to keep it in place)

The finished light job.

I know someone else here put them around the outside of their trailer. My husband dedicated a wire to the lights when he put all the wiring in the trailer frame. I'm sure you could tie it in to the 12V lights.

I was thinking more about applying LED lights along the body for illumination ie as a replacement for the side light. But that looks pretty cool! Have you had any problems with the adhesive not holding on your travels?

Haven't gone on any long travels--only about 40 miles. I'm going on a pretty long trip soon & we'll see how they hold up! I know I saw someone on here with their lights around the beltline--it looked pretty cool.
