Exterior LED lights flickering!

We have a 2012 19' Bambi Signature and have noticed that the exterior LED light over the door occasionally changes intensity, flickers and every now and them a section of the LEDs go out. A gentle tap brings them back on. Any experience with a situation like this? Could it simply be a loose connecting or is it a circuit board issue with the fixture itself? Thanks!

I've not had this problem with my particular unit, but it could be either of the issues you raised. I would take off the cover and see if the connections are solid. If you confirm that the connections are solid then I would say that you have a failing light bulb (or LED in this case.) Just replace it.

If a tap seems to fix it then you have some kind of flaky connection. Most likely the bulb socket or loose wiring. I've seen soldered connections without any solder in them or cold solder joints where the solder did not wick into place.
A quick heat up with a standard soldering iron and some solder fixes these.

Another issue can be a poor ground connection... many light fixtures on the Airstream use the shell as their ground return. The screws or rivets holding them in place can loosen up over time making for an iffy connection. Tighten the screw or replace the rivet to fix.

Most new age light sockets,, depend on a mounting screw that holds the unit too the body as a ground path.. A little dirt,, or fuzz and the ground connection is broken..

If all your lights act this way its trying to ground into the hitch ball.. In that case it would require a close look at your trailer plug..
