Do yourself a favor, get rid of hassling with LED replacements that depend on the problematic ballast. Contact M4LED.com. In addition to many other superior and brighter LED replacements, M4LED offers a ballast-free 14" tube light for the living room fixture in the Excella 1000 models. I am no electrician, but I was able to replace the 14" florescent tubes in my 1999 Excella 1000 with LED tubes in less than 20 minutes. You'll be glad you did. All of my Thin-Lite fixtures now have tube lights from M4LED.

I rewired my thin-lites with 4 strips, each, of led ribbons. This was before the led tubes were available.
