Evil malfunctioning clearance lights 72 25 tradewind

So we scraped, replaced and greased all the lights and they all worked but the curb rear clearance light. Tugged a little too hard and the qwikconnect male plug popped right out the 3/16 hole. Screamed cried and fished. finally cut open the closet between bunk and bath and found the green line taped to the skin. Tugged it up to where I could reach it and now the driver side has gone out. I dont know how to use the voltmeter. Does the live line come up from the floor curb side and then go over to driver side light- or is it anyones guess? there is a line going up and a line going down, the male was shoved in to a female connector which was crimped to them both. Wish it was a bigger closet. Stopped short of any more damage.
Any suggestions for tomorrows escapades?
Thanks,
"Silver Can"
