Easy Back-up Beeper Addition...

A friend added a BEEPER to his AS's back-up light circuit to warn any wayward critters (or people) of their impending doom if they were standing by the back bumper during maneuvers ...

I cruised to my local auto parts store and found a clever miniature BEEPER device that's mounted in a single-contact bulb base, with a small Halogen bulb on the top - just replace the original bulb with the new BEEPER and you're done!...they have these same BEEPERs with late model flat socket type bulb bases for your TV as well...

It works great, just enough 'noise' to alert you if you're near the back of the AS, but not loud or annoying enough to bother your 'neighbors'...I guess if it was late at night and you didn't want to hear the 'beep-beep-beep', you could pull the plug from the trailer in front...

The Halogen back-up light is really bright, as well...

Clever idea! How much was it?

If it's to be, it's up to me.

I got it from the Pep-Boys auto parts chain, but I don't see it on their web site - however this same unit is sold by several other outlets and under different the web under 'backup alarm bulb' to find more info...

I paid about $9 at the local store...I see the examples on the web are more $'s still a nifty little device...
