Do YOU think it's brighter?

Just replaced the first one of the marker lights on our 84. Figured I would take pictures since I always ask others to do the same. Step by step. Can you see a difference?

Mine was substantially better with LEDs. Did you pick those up at French-Ellison or Fleetpride?

Brighter - but if you still need proof - leave one old style and one new and check at night.

Got 'em at Superbright LED's REDNAX. They seemed to be a perfect replacement.

I could tell today when I was replacing the ones in the back. I did the one in the middle first. And I did the taillights a month or so ago and the first thing I noticed that was different, was driving in the daytime. When I turned on a blinker to change lanes I saw instant reactions from people, slowing down to allow it or moving over to give me room. Did not get that kind of reaction before I put in the LED's. I used to think folks were just very rude, now I think they probably could not see my blinkers that well.

Last 2 Daytime pics below. All have now been replaced. Now...what to do next???
Miller Time!

Leds

Now your really making me want to change mine out!!!
I found out how dim mine are when I got my trailer inspected last month, I turned on the blinkers for the inspecter and he told me they did not work. I was sure they did they all had new bulbs. We had to get something to block the sun so he could see them blinking.
Now I know why traffic never reacts in the daytime when I'm trying to change lanes!

Yours look great! They are defanitly brighter! Thanks for posting the difference.

You will notice a difference with traffic reactions if you change out those taillights. Here are my old and the new ones. Little trouble getting the new ones on since they did not have gaskets. (I did not get them from the same place I got the marker lights) You can see my liberal use of sealant to compensate. No pic of the old ones lit, but the new ones are turned on in the pic.

Ok now I gotta have some! Could you guide me in the direction of where I need to go to purchase them? I clicked on the link you posted but it give me an error. I'm on a tablet, ill try it on my computer.

Was the install fairly easy?

Try this link for the clearance lights, not sure what went wrong with the other one. Install was easy on these. Did them all today. If the link does not work go to Superbrightleds.com and work your way thru...

MDB series Double Bulls Eye Marker Lamp

I got my tail-lights from somewhere else. I will have to look that up for you. Install was relatively simple on them as well, heck, I did it so... But I did not like that they did not have gaskets with them. I do, however, like the lights! And with enough sealant, well, anything will work.

S&S LED's

ok...Tail lights came from S&S LED's. No web site that I am aware of, but here is contact info. And I think I talked to "Steve" (one of the S's?)
I was told about them at a Vintage Rally in Glen Rose TX earlier this year.

Happy hunting!

Led kit

Casa3805,

Thanks for your help yesterday, I found a sealed LED Kit at LED4RV.com.

Sealed LED light kit for old 4.25 Monarch LED-kit2

If anyone is looking for a LED Kit you might want to check it out.
On the bottom of the web page it says:
This product was added to our catalog on Saturday 03 December, 2011
So this maybe something new.

I ordered mine along with marker lights and a new license plate light. All LED!

I wont be able to install them until I get back to the states sometime just before Xmas, but Ill be sure to report back and let you guys know how it works out.

Our LED marker light replacements are much BRIGHTER...I'd place this project high on one's 'to do' list...

I also converted the tail/stop/BU lights to LEDs - here's how I did it three years ago... http://www.airforums.com/forums/f173...-as-42187.html

Doing the tail/stop conversion today, I'd probably go for the LED-Kit2, mentioned above - it looks like a good way to go, and the price looks good for all the material you get in the kit....IMHO

Make you day brighter, and after dark, too! Go LED - we've now converted ALL our lights to LEDs...so of our other data is shown here: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f173...way-41888.html

Great threads Mex...
8 Track with tapes, too funny. All you people with trailers from the 70's are so "yesterday". Our 84 has a cassette!
