Clearance light repair

I have a 1977 Trade Wind with 8 2-bulb clearance lights. Two or three of them have intermittent problems. I looks like the problem is the way the sockets were attached to the light base. Small plastic post were heated and pressed down to hold the two parts together. Now, if I push on the connection they will work, otherwise they don't. Has anyone been successful in getting the connection to stay in place. Some work, some don't. Yes, I know I could buy new ones but these are fine, mostly. Any ideas?

They are under $5. Just replace them.
