blinking tail lights

I recently purchased a 2015 Flying Cloud 30 which I will pull with my 2014 Mercedes gl350. I was inspecting it with the SUV turned off and running , but connected to the trailer with the lights turned off and noticed a faint blinking of the tail lights. the blinking stops when the lights are turned on. The turn signals, brake lights and the electric brakes work correctly. I looking for anyone who has seen and /or corrected this type of problem.

thanks

It is normal because of led lights. If you have some other load while hooked up it will stop or there are adaptors that will do this for you that you can put in line between the trailer and the Mercedes. Mine stopped when we put a backup camera on the trailer. My dealer suggested a very small regular 12v bulb hidden behind the Led tail light on the trailer.

It's part of the Mercedes bulb burnout detection, apparently. I guess it pulses a low current through the lights to verify its connected.

Here is a diagram of how to wire in some conventional clearance lights to solve the problem. It is quite easy to do.

You will find the junction box under the front sofa.
