bathroom light question

We took out all the wall cabinets/mirror/lights from our 78 Excella center bath unit. There were two square glass lights in the bathroom, one on the left and one on the right. The wall switch says "Light - high - low".

Did the two lights work in tandem; as in one light on = low and two lights on = high? Since nothing worked when we bought it we're not sure.

We have power to the wires for the right light, but can't seem to get any for the left light.

Any input is, as always, appreciated.

The lites work independently . LOW MED &HIGH On each side.They are 12 volt ,each switch position lites more bulbs.

I have 1) light (high-low) one marked water and one marked fan on the bank of three switches.

Our 78 is a rear bath model, but has the same lights...

'High' side of the switch illuminates BOTH fixtures with all bulbs a'blazin!

'Low' side illuminates BOTH fixtures with only half the bulbs lit in each.

Those fixtures put out a lot of light in the 'high' position, and lots of heat, also!

I'd like to replace them with some LED units, but the output would be much less...and fluorescence units give off the wrong 'color' illumination for bath use, IMHO.

Any idea why we would see juice in the one and not the other?

You're going to have to get out your multimeter and check for voltage in the wires of the light that isn't working...or possibly the connection from the switch to that light may be suspect....

AS used a lot of those twist-type connectors back then...and they are JUNK, especially after all these years...the wire ends eventually get some 'varnish' like coating after time, and they don't connect very well...

Check your connections, and then use some quality crimp type connectors after cleaning the copper wire to get it 'bright' again...

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it...
